Established in 1873, the Saar Pioneer Cemetery began as a private resting place for the wife of King County Councilman Peter Saar. But as the community grew, more people were given permission to be buried alongside Margaret Saar. There are 141 people buried in the historic landmark, including 5 civil war veterans.
The Emil W. Bereiter House, constructed in 1907, is now home to the Greater Kent Historical Society Museum.
A more recent landmark, built in 1982, is the Mill Creek Canyon Earthworks. This public park is home to what’s considered a modernist masterpiece of environmental art.
